Second Match of the Week

After picking 3 points at Liversedge on Monday night, The Gingerbreads head to Sheffield FC tonight knowing a win would mean they stay in the league.

Head Coach, Louis Bland looked back to the result "Across the whole team we were 7 or 8s on Monday. In the first half I felt we were the better side and if we took our chances should have gone in winning.

We didn't and they took the chance we presented them. At half time we said to the boys that getting 3 points would be fabulous but 1 would be ok.

The second half though we kept to the plan and both goals came from us not giving up. For the first one, Sisa worked hard down the right and delivered a great cross for Brad. The second was similar but Rodrigo battled to get the ball and his cross reached Ryan to do his thing"

Since the draw with The Gingerbreads ar The Meres at the end of March, Sheffield have won 2 of their 8 matches, both at home to Consett and Dunston.

Louis continued "We had to work really hard to get that draw so we know it'll be difficult again but we'll be there ready for it.

The Supporters on Monday were again incredible. The lads feed of it, you can see how they feel about the Club by the way they all celebrated together at the end"

For those unable to get to Sheffield, there will be updates on the clubs social media accounts.
