Saturday's emphatic 5-0 victory over Marine was the best start the club has made in it's 143 year history. Furthermore, the 5-0 victory was also enough to take Grantham to the top of the league after the first round of fixtures.
The opponents on Tuesday night, Rushall however were beaten 2-0 away from home to Warrington, leaving them 22nd in the table.
Despite the weekend's results, Grantham manager Adam Stevens isn't going to allow complacency to creep in: "Of course Saturday's result was a very good start to the season and has given the players a lot of confidence, but we have to remember it is only the first game. Tuesday will post a different kind of threat and every single player needs to be ready to rise up and face the challenge."
Stevens will also have a selection headache on Tuesday by having a fully fit squad to choose from.
In the same fixture last season, the home side won 3-1, but more recently Grantham won the return fixture 2-1 just four months ago. Dales Lane has not been a happy hunting ground, as the Gingerbreads have won just once in ten visits, that win came courtesy of an 87th minute free-kick from Danny Brooks in a 3-2 thriller back in 2008.
