The first chance of the night fell on 6 minutes. Tom Potts long header fell to Jordan Hempenstall but his show was comfortably taken by the goal keeper.
Rhys Lewis, Jordan Hempenstall and Michael Hollingsworth all had long range efforts, which didn't trouble the keeper.
Luke Shaw and Lee Shaw were working their full backs well but any cross could not be met by a Gingerbread.
On 36 minutes though, Halesowen took the lead. From their first corner, the ball was hit long Kieran Preston could only tip the ball towards the Halesowen attacker. 0-1
The Gingerbreads were level 3 minutes later. Michael Hollingsworth played to Jordan Hempenstall, his reverse pass found Andrew Wright who gave himself room and fired home. 1-1.
The Gingerbreads pressure and possession continued throughout the second half. Chances came and went.
Then came the sucker punch. The Gingerbreads had just cleared from a similar situation. Halesowen broke down the right and cut in, the shot taking a slight deflection passed Kieran Preston.
The Gingerbreads looked for an equaliser but it wasn't to be. Halesowen had a opportunity to go 3-1 up, Tom Potts brought down a Halesowen attacker in the box. Kieran Preston saved brilliantly.
