The Gingerbreads face their third of four consecutive away games as they travel to Greater Manchester this weekend in search of a first win under manager Martin McIntosh and a first away league win of the season.
McIntosh's men battled to a hard-earned 1-1 draw away to Whitby Town on Tuesday night as they look to gain ground on their fellow relegation rivals around them.
Chris Robertson gave the Gingerbreads the lead in the first half, rising highest to head home from a corner before Whitby equalised in the second half through Adam Gell.
Town are currently 19th in the table, just one point clear of the relegation zone and six points behind this weekend's opponents.
Ashton were also in action during the week and a 3-1 win over Mickleover Sports on Tuesday stretched their unbeaten run to five games as they moved another step closer towards safety themselves.
The Robins have struggled this season following their relegation from the Vanarama National League North last season and are 17th in the table as it currently stands.
Josh Wilson is the third highest goalscorer in the division with 16 goals to his name and will be the main danger man for Michael Clegg's side this weekend.
Grantham boss McIntosh was delighted with his team's performance against Whitby and has challenged his players to build on the confidence gained from the result.
He said: "I was impressed with the way my players conducted themselves on Tuesday in terms of their performance.
"It was a huge step up from the last game and I want them to do the exact same this weekend and if possible give more when we face Ashton.
"It won't be an easy game, but we know a win can close the gap on our rivals around us and help our own cause in the battle for survival."
McIntosh has confirmed there haven't be any new injury concerns for his side and that he should have a full squad to select from.
