A Lincolnshire derby awaits on Easter Monday as Grantham host their final home game of the season against rivals Gainsborough Trinity.

The Gingerbreads will be looking for a quick reaction after falling to a 2-0 defeat away at Scarborough Athletic on Saturday.

In a game of few and far chances between - with the Gingerbreads arguablly having the better of chances including hitting the post and forcing Scarborough goalkeeper Tommy Taylor into a good save.

After failing to take their chances, the home side made the Gingerbreads pay after late goals from James Walshaw and Michael Coulson consigned Paul Rawden's men to a second consecutive defeat.

The result didn't affect Grantham's position as they remain in 15th and still require only a point to confirm their safety following other results this weekend.

Lincolnshire rivals Gainsborough are clinging onto there play-off place and remain their only on goal difference in fifth place following a 0-0 draw at home to Hednesford on Good Friday.

Paul Rawden's men will be aware of Trinity's main danger man Ashley Worsfold who has netted 16 goals so far for Liam King's men and will be looking to stop him from adding to his tally.

The earlier result between the two rivals took place on Boxing Day with Grantham snatching all three points in a 3-2 thriller.

Goals from Danny Durkin, Ryley Thompson and a last minute own goal were enough to take three points away from the Northolme and take the bragging rights for earlier in the season.

Grantham boss Rawden wants his side to play with their hearts and said his side can cause Gainsborough problems ahead of the final home game of the season: "We want to go out on a high for the fans at our own ground especially as its a local derby.

"The bragging rights are up for grabs and I know we want to have that feeling as it is always a good feeling.

"I want my side to use their ability we all know they have but also, I want them to be able to play with their hearts to give them that extra cutting edge that will be needed to win the game."

Despite the quick turn-around, Rawden and Russ Cousins are still expected to have a full-strength squad to select from.
