Following a disappointing 3-0 defeat away at Warrington, the Gingerbreads are now without a win in four and only three points clear of the relegation zone in 17th place.
Saturday's opponents Workington are also in the relegation battle and currently occupy 21st position, however they do have four games in hand on their rivals.
The Reds tasted victory in their last match as they secured a 2-1 win at home to Bamber Bridge to give Workington a first win in five games.
The earlier meeting this season will be a memorable one for the Gingerbreads as they won 4-1 away in Cumbria with goals coming from Max Watters and Danny Durkin who both scored braces to send Town home with the three points.
Grantham will also be looking to get only their second win at home since September, with the only other win coming against Basford on New Year's Day.
Gingerbreads boss Richard Thomas said his side must be up for the fight in what will be a tough game: "The boys have to be up for this. They need to fight for every ball, fight for every decision and fight for the victory.
"This is a very important game in the course of our season and we must be switched on at all times if we are to get the win.
"I have every faith in my players to go and put on a show for the fans."
There are no new injury concerns to report for Grantham ahead of this weekend's fixture.
