Alvechurch made the perfect start with a goal from Babucar Sauane in the first minute. Josh March put Alvechurch two up from the penalty spot on 31 minutes before Grantham got back into the game with a goal from Stefan Galinski on 43 minutes. Alvechurch increased their lead before half time when Josh March took advantage of a defensive error to score his second goal.

Grantham pushed hard in the second half with Lee Shaw having the ball in the net on the hour but it was ruled out for off side.
