The Gingerbreads came through a tough challenge to beat Barton Town in the FA Cup.

Ryan Hall made his debut after joining on loan yesterday.

Despite dominating possession, The Gingerbreads found it hard to break down a hard working Barton side, who liked to play from the back.

Just after the half hour Gregg Smith kept high at the back post to head the ball across and beyond the Barton keeper.

The lead lasted barely a minute as from kick off Barton broke forward and The Gingerbreads defence fouled the striker in the box. The penalty was clinically despatched.

The second half got off to the perfect start. Craig Westcarr got in front of his man to flick his header over the Barton keeper to make it 2-1.

The Gingerbreads couldn't increase their lead until a few minutes from the end.

Ryan Hall broke free down the right hand side, he kept his cool to square the ball to Ryan Baldwin who from close range tapped the ball in and send The Gingerbreads into the next round of the FA Cup.
