with a resilient performance after the worst possible start. A goal down after 7 minutes facing a strong wind, Grantham looked to have a mountain to climb, but deserved their point.

"They are a good side, but I thought it would be a turnaround at half-time and that proved the case." Said Gingerbreads Manager Richard Thomas. We did our jobs and deserved what we got from the game."

Farsley started with the wind in their favour and immediately put Grantham under pressure with three corners in the first five minutes. After 7minutes Grantham were behind. Tom Ward tried to reach Jordan Wright with his header from 25 yards out. The header was short and James Spencer reacted quickest. He latched on to the ball and gave Wright no chance to put the home side in front.

The home side used the conditions to keep the Gingerbreads on the back foot. Chances were created for Spencer, David Syers, Nathan Cartman, but a combination of good saves from Wright and blocks from the Gingerbreads defence kept the home side out.

The Gingerbreads were restricted to a couple of breaks in the first half. A good challenge by Jack Higgins on the edge of the penalty area denied Danny Durkin after Tom Ward put him in.

On the stroke of half time, the home side created their best chance of the first forty five minutes. Syers and Ben Atkinson combined to work the chance, but Atkinson fired his shot across goal and just wide.

Immediately after the break, Farsley Celtic went close again. Atkinson got a shot away that beat Wright, but clipped the post; the follow-up cross was headed wide by Spencer.

Charlie Ward forced a save from Kyle Trennery a couple of minutes later. Bradley Fortnum-Tomlinson's cross was cleared at the expense of a corner. Ward met the delivery at the far post, but Trennery comfortably saved his effort.

Ross Barrows tried his luck form 40yards out after 56 minutes, but missed the target. Grantham had the better possession in the second half as expected with the conditions in their favour, but still had to be aware of the threat the home side carried.

Three times in the middle of the second half, Spencer had chances for Farsley Celtic. Only one of the chances forced Wright into a save.

Grantham were given a one man advantage with 15 minutes to go. Tom Ward won the ball in midfield with a strong challenge. Atkinson wanted a free kick, when he didn't get the referee’s decision in his favour, he dived in two footed on Tom Ward and got a straight red card from Mr Jones.

Grantham got their equaliser seven minutes from time. A good free kick from Olly Luto was delivered to the far post. Charlie Ward got highest and got enough on his header to beat Trennery.

Farsley threw all they could at Grantham for the remaining minutes. Despite forcing three corners, Grantham defended strongly to take home a point.
