Three Points Collected At Coalville

Three Points Collected At Coalville

Graham Cowell13 Apr 2017 - 12:46

The Gingerbreads got what they wanted on a night which saw them move up two places and the play off dream going.

Adam Stevens named an unchanged starting line up, with Rhys Lewis back and on the bench.

On the front from the off it was The Gingerbreads who dominated the opening 20 minutes. Shots from Lee Shaw and Harry Clifton, and a header from Stefan Galinski went wide.

With 10 minutes on the clock, the travelling support thought The Gingerbreads had taken the lead. Luke Shaw got his head onto a cross and in nestled in the back of the net, however the Assistant Referee had his flag in the air for offside.

The Gingerbreads continued to press and got in front on 25 minutes. Luke Shaw cut in on the left, squared the ball across the goal and Luther Wildin was there to slot home.

Just before half time, Massiah McDonald challenged Danny Meadows with his studs up leaving the Referee little choice but to send off, the one time Grantham player.

Coalville came out more confident and on 50 minutes won a free kick on the edge of the box. Danny Jenno stepped up to take it and curled it passed Kieran Preston who could do nothing about it. 1-1

15 minutes later The Gingebreads were back in front. Lee Shaw received the ball from Danny Meadows in the box, Shaw passed this towards Jeremiah Dasalou who settled his feet and fired the ball into the roof of the net.

On 70 minutes, The Gingerbreads had the chance to go further in front. Lee Shaw was pulled down in the box. Luke Shaw stepped up to take it but the ball ended up over the bar.

The Gingerbreads saw out the match comfortably and kept the play off dream going. With results elsewhere The Gingerbreads are 7th and head to Buxton on Saturday who are 6th after their defeat at Workington.
