The first half performance against good quality opposition, was enough to secure a confident win for Grantham Town Reserves.
Eathan Milne was dominant in the first 45 minutes as the Reserves moved the ball around well. Harry Stubbs finished well early on before Haniel Marasco saw a header go over the bar. Milne struck a nice shot for the second, whilst Nathan Brettoner narrowly put the ball wide after a quick counterattacking move. 2-0 was a well deserved lead at the interval.
The second half saw substitutions for the Reserves, giving Wyberton a chance to attack but George Crompton-Allan, in goal, stayed strong, blocking a couple of efforts. Grantham had a couple of efforts of their own, with one being ruled out after the linesman flagged for offside. Tom Figura and his fellow defenders stayed strong, with a 2-0 victory being a just reward at 90 minutes.
A clean sheet for Crompton-Allan and star player for Milne were well deserved, and the performance was a good confidence boost for Liam Mills’ team.
