Curtis began his career with Manchester City, starring in the FA Youth Cup Final in 2006. He moved into non-league football with Conference Premier club Wrexham in and made almost 100 appearances for the Welsh side. Curtis moved to Premier League club Swansea City at the end of January 2012 on a three-and-a-half-year deal for a fee in the region of £200,000. Loan spells at Fleetwood Town , York City, Stevenage and Newport County saw 30 football league appearances.
He signed for Macclesfield Town in October 2016, subsequently joining Altrincham then Solihull Moors. After a year out of football, Curtis joined Nuneaton Borough and had a loan spell at Ashton United
Curtis has represented England at under-19 and England C levels.
