Adam started his career at Sheffield United, but made his senior debut on loan with Oxford United in 2009.

He signed for the U`s on a permanent basis in the summer of 2009 for a £15,000 fee and went on to play 77 times as well as have loan stints with Newport County and Mansfield Town, and later went on to play for those clubs on a more permanent basis, making 75 and 37 appearances respectively.

Since then, Adam has had spells at Gainsborough Trinity, Boston United and Sheffield FC.
