U16s won 10-1 vs Kings Lynn (Away)
Update from coach:
The U16s travelled away to Kings Lynn having lost two senior players to injuries mid week. The strength in depth of the squad is excellent this year and the cups have proved vital in giving everyone minutes before the league games start in 2 weeks time.
The young gingerbreads continued their good form with an impressive 1-10 win, with strikers Price and Wilkerson scoring 7 between them.
Debut given to Redfern, who topped off a strong performance with a goal of his own.
Next weeks away game will be a much stronger test, especially without our two senior players and Varcianna away on vacation but this is a competitive squad and we expect players to step up to the challenge.
U18s drew 1-1 vs Qualitas Sport- JPL Cup
Update from coach:
After going down to 10 men after half an hour & then a goal down after an hour. It was a really solid performance to equaliser and take a point.
U15s lost 2-3 v Boston Utd
Update from coach: The lads put in a tremendous effort against a team sat at the top of the group with 100% record, and we were extremely unlucky not to win the game. Our boys should be proud of themselves for their performance and work rate today. We took a 2-1 lead into the last quarter of the game and should really have added to it, before conceding from a corner with 5 minutes to go. Then with the momentum flipped around, Boston scored a last minute winner even though we consider there to be an obvious foul on our player in the build up, that should have been pulled up. Really tough on our lads but a fantastic effort none the less. U13’s: GTFC 2-5 Corby Update from coach: Massive improvements from the first game at Kettering. Very good throughout much of the game, taking the lead early on in the first quarter. We went into the final quarter losing 3-2 and really wanted to get something out of the game, but unfortunately it went the other way conceding 2 late goals. Lots of positives to take - we’re heading in the right direction.
