Grantham Town FC is delighted to announce the appointment of Mitch Griffiths as the club’s new First Team Manager.

Mitch began his non-league career at the age of 17 with Boston United in the UniBond League (Step 3). His first full season was spent at Deeping Rangers, followed by a successful spell at Holbeach United, where he won two County Cups and a league title.
He progressed to Step 4 football with Spalding United before joining Lincoln United, playing a key role in their play-off campaign. Mitch then moved to Peterborough Sports, where he helped the club earn promotion to Step 3 in his debut season. His second and third seasons at the club were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
A return to Sleaford Town followed, where he spent two and a half years before rejoining Lincoln United. There, he contributed to a memorable season that saw the club finish second in the league, win the County Cup, and reach the FA Vase semi-finals.
This season marked Mitch's first step into management with Newark Town, where he guided the team to a strong debut campaign at Step 5, narrowly missing out on the play-offs.
Mitch Griffiths said:
“I’m proud to join Grantham Town FC as Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity, and I was delighted to accept it. I fully share Nick and the board’s vision of building a true community club. My focus will be on bringing in the right people with the right mentality, and restoring the winning spirit this town truly deserves.”
Chairman Nick Johnston added:
“We are excited to welcome Mitch to the Gingerbreads. From our first 3½-hour meeting, it was clear that he shares our ambitions and values. We are confident that Mitch’s leadership will drive us forward and inspire the players, supporters, and the community.”
We look forward to an exciting new chapter under Mitch’s guidance and encourage everyone to get behind him and the team as we prepare for the upcoming season.
