The Gingerbreads returned from North Lincolnshire with all 3 points, courtesy of a double strike from Brad McGregor.
New signing Ify Ofoegbu started in place of Luke Hinsley who was still carrying a knock from Rugby Town and Sam Tessler came in for Sam Muggleton who was unavailable.
After a scrappy start, The Gingerbreads built into the match and at the break could have easily been 3 goals up through Ify Ofoegbu alone.
The Gingerbreads opened the scoring just after the hour. Iffy Ofoegbu turned well on the edge of the box but his shot was saved, but the keeper only parried to Brad McGregor who tucked the ball home.
The lead was only to last 10 minutes when a long ball forward wasn't dealt with and Grimsby Borough were level.
But the winner came for The Gingerbreads. Eli Christie out wide crossed the ball deep over to Luke Hinsley and his header reached Brad McGregor again and he was able to knock it beyond the keeper, despite the protests for offside by the home side.
