Today marks the 150th anniversary of the club's formation.
At a meeting chaired by Arthur Hutchinson at the Exchange Hall on 2nd September 1874, it was noted in the Grantham Journal that 'a goodly muster of persons were present'. It was unanimously decided to form a club for local sportspersons to partake in a winter pastime and the first committee was formed that evening.
There are less than 30 football clubs worldwide that can boast a history longer than Grantham's.
To mark the occasion, historical photos and memorabilia, collated by Jon Barnes, will be on display at the club this Saturday.
A wider display will also be available to view at the end of the month at Grantham Library / Isaac Newton Centre display unit.'
