the club are in a position to announce the appointment of Nick Johnston as the new Club chairman.

Further announcements will be made in due course regarding a further three new Directors.

The Club would like to place on record its thanks to outgoing Directors Peter Railton and Sophie Cope who have stepped aside as part of the changes.

Sophie added “Despite being offered the opportunity to stay on board with Nick and the team it feels like the time is right to hand over the reigns after a difficult few seasons the club now has chance to start a fresh both on and off the pitch knowing the club is in safe hands. I am looking forward to enjoying some football as a fan again”

Incoming Chairman Nick Johnston, who has been a close follower of the Club for a number of years added

“I am grateful to be become the Chairman of Grantham Town FC.

I first watched Grantham in the early 70’s & enjoyed watching Chris Gardiner in his prime, is great to be able to play an active part now.

Our motivation is to build a Community Club, where we can watch our children, nephews & nieces play on Saturday morning, the First Team win on Saturday afternoon & over the 40’s walking footballers like me, enjoy a game on Wednesday evening.

Grantham Town have many great people involved, all volunteers, the best fans without doubt, when we all pull together, I think we can achieve even greater things for the community, get the winning feeling back on the pitch & most importantly of all, have fun doing it!”
