The 23-year-old will link up with the first-team squad this season after leaving Sheffield Wednesday, where he had been since the age of six.
Making five senior appearances for Wednesday in a six-year period, his first taste of senior football came against Bolton Wanderers in April 2014.
After being sidelined with an ankle ligament injury, Stobbs’ next foray into the first-team wouldn’t come until the end of the 2015-16 campaign on the final day against Watford.
In order to play first-team football more regularly, the 23-year-old has since spent time on loan at Port Vale in the 2017-18 season as well as a spell at SPL side Livingston last year before injury cut his time north of the border short, returning to Hillsbrough.
Upon his arrival at the Meres, Grantham’s newest recruit highlighted the positivity in and around the Gingerbreads camp as one of his decisions to join the club.
He said: “I’m delighted to be at the club and to be given a chance to come and play some first-team football.
“From the moment I arrived for my first training session, I was amazed by the atmosphere around the group of players, and coaching staff, and how welcoming they are which was such a big factor.
“You go to some places and you don’t really feel that, but the buzz around here was really good and I can’t wait to get started.”
During his time as a player Stobbs has mainly operated as a winger, but can also play as a striker, but the former Wednesday man described just what the fans could look forward to seeing of him.
“I would say I’m quite a direct player” said Stobbs.
“I like to get on the ball a lot and use my pace to take players on and create as many chances as I can for the strikers to score goals".
“I also like to try and get shots away myself and score some goals too and I will try my best to do that as much as I can for the team.”
Finally, for Stobbs, the opportunity to come and play in front of the crowd is a great feeling for any player and one that he thinks will improve his game.
The 23-year-old said: “Playing in front of a crowd is what it’s all about really".
“I think they really make the game and as a player with supporters there to back you, it definitely helps to raise your game too and makes you a better player.
“It’s been a long time for me personally since I played in front of the fans but I’m really excited to get the chance to do so and give my all.”
Stobbs could make his debut for the club on Saturday against Lancaster City in the Pitching In Northern Premier League.
