The 27-year-old arrives from Mickleover Sports, after spending the last four seasons at the Don Amott Arena, before choosing to reunite with Martin McIntosh who was his manager when playing his trade at Worksop Town.
Turner is a versatile option for the Gingerbreads who can operate as a left-back or left wing-back or even play on the left-hand side of a centre-back partnership and Grantham boss McIntosh is delighted to have added the attacking full-back to his side.
He said: “Ben is a solid player who has played at this level for a while now and has been consistent every year and the right type of player we need going forward."
“I know him from my time at both Worksop and at Mansfield where he was a young player learning his trade and he is a solid character and a good footballer who is very versatile.”
Standing tall at 6'3', Turner also has the ability to attack down the left side of the pitch, and McIntosh believes his experience will be vital for the Gingerbreads ahead of the anticipated start to next season.
McIntosh said: “Ben is a good athlete who has good energy throughout the 90 minutes".
“He is very talented on the ball and has an excellent left foot whilst also being able to attack and defend up and down the pitch constantly.
“Not only is he a talented footballer, he is also very experienced and will be great in the dressing room as a leader for the rest of his teammates.”
Grantham boss McIntosh also confirmed that Tim Ryan would be his assistant manager ahead of next season.
“Tim will be my assistant and will be helping me out in terms of the coaching and recruitment side of things” said McIntosh.
“I’ve known Tim for a long time having worked with him at previous jobs such as Buxton and he will be a great addition to the coaching staff we have already have here with Greg Young as a player/coach and then also Adam Smith who was here the last two seasons.”
Welcome to the club Ben!
