Thomas had a night to forget on his first game in charge on Tuesday, losing 7-0 away to Matlock Town, extending the Gingerbreads' unwanted winless record to six games.
The result saw Tuesday's opponents climb above the Gingerbreads, whilst Town slipped to 14th, however they are six points clear of the relegation zone and only eight points off the last play-off spot, firmly ensconced in mid-table.
Halesowen Town travel to the Meres off the back of a 1-1 draw at home to Needham Market in the newly formed, EVO-STIK South Premier Division Central where they also occupy 14th position.
The Yeltz have failed to win in their last three games in all competitions, including a loss in the League Cup to Redditch United.
This fixture will almost feel like deja vu for both sets of fans having met at the same stage of the competition last year ,with Grantham winning the tie 1-0 thanks to a Jordan Hempenstall goal.
New Grantham boss Thomas is looking forward to playing in front of the home fans and said his side want to make up for Tuesday night's performance: "On a personal note I'm really looking forward to taking charge in front of the home fans for the first time as well as meeting them all. It's going to be a special day for me."
"The most important thing for us is that we put right what was, in the most simple of terms, an unacceptable performance on Tuesday night. The lads have come back into training and worked really hard, and I've seen enough to make me feel confident that they can put in a good performance and progress to the next round of the competition."
New signing Choz Charlesworth could make his home debut for Grantham at the weekend after making his first appearance for the club on Tuesday.
Tom Batchelor and Morgan Penfold are still definitely ruled out through injury whilst the rest of the squad is available for selection.
