Another New Era For The Gingerbreads Begins

By Callum Boyle

Grantham start life under Richard Thomas for the first time on Tuesday as they face Matlock Town away from home.

Tuesday night sees the Gingerbreads under the stewardship of Richard Thomas for the first time, following Ian Culverhouse's short tenure ending last Tuesday, in which Town were beaten 3-2 at home to Nantwich Town.

The result left Grantham without a win in five games, as well as being winless in October, seeing the Gingerbreads dropping down to 13th in the league, following not playing this weekend.

Tuesday's opponents Matlock meanwhile didn't have the weekend off and instead played a part in a thrilling 3-3 draw at home to Hednesford. The Gladiators have yet to taste defeat this month in the league, however they have drawn three of their last five games.

Draws have been a big part of Matlock's season, drawing half of their 12 games played this season, leaving them in 16th place and two points behind Grantham in the league standings.

Tom Batchelor remains a long term absentee with an ongoing knee injury. Peterborough United loanee Morgan Penfold is also expected to still be unavailable through injury. The rest of the squad is available for selection.

As ever, match updates will be available through the club's social media channels for those not heading to Causeway Lane.
