Gingerbreads Come Home With A Point

Grant Ryan was again on the score sheet as The Gingerbreads drew 1-1 at Barwell tonight.

The first half saw The Gingerbreads attacking up the slope. Barwell started the brightest but as the half went on The Gingerbreads had good chances through Luke Shaw, Lee Shaw, Grant Ryan and debutant Luther Wildin. However the half ended goalless.

The second half The Gingerbreads continued as they finished the first half. Harry Clifton and Luke Shaw found themselves being able to run at the Barwell defence and creating chances for their team mates.

It was Grant Ryan who opened the scoring when he collected the ball just in the box and fired home passed the keeper.

The Gingerbreads continued to push forward and almost doubled their lead when Lee Shaw just put a shot from close range wide of the post.

Barwell brought on all their subs and played long balls up-to their tall attack. The equaliser came from a header at the back post from a corner. This didn't deflate the Gingerbreads and they continued their attack again with Harry Clifton and Luke Shaw orchestrating it.

Danny Durkin came on for Grant Ryan but couldn't find a winner and The Gingerbreads picked up the point on the road.
