This coming Saturday, The Gingerbreads will be getting behind the “SOS Grantham Hospital” campaign at our home match against Blyth Spartans.
As you will be aware, United Lincs Hospital Trust announced and have now acted on the night time closure of Grantham Hospital A&E Unit. As a football club we feel that this service must stay and support the various groups who have opposed the ULHT decision.
SOS Grantham Hospital have given the go ahead for solicitors to commence legal action to seek a Judicial Review given the lack of consultation by ULHT relating to the decision to close down Grantham Hospital A&E Unit at night time. Any legal action comes at a cost, so The Gingerbreads will be holding a bucket collection to help contribute to these.
Councillor Ian Selby, who has hit national press after his Zumbathon protest last week will be involved and will be asking those who have not already signed the “SOS Grantham Hospital” petition to do so.
